2go Version 4.0.5 has been released and is
available for download in our downloads section
(download link at the end of the article). First, let
us look at the new features of this brand new 2go
mobile chat app.
First notice that this is a whole new number
(4.0)and not a little upgrade like 3.7.1 or
something.
Usually, in programming or in building apps, a
release or update with a fresh new number is called
a "big release" because the new app has a lot of
significant differences from the 3.0 series. The
previous version was 3.7, if the 2go Mobile team
had called this new release version 3.8 then it
would mean a minor update. Okay enough of the
talking, let's take a look at the brand new 2GO 4.0
Ability To Use More Than One Account: You can
now use more than one 2go account in the new
2go version 4.0.5. To switch from one account to
the other, go to the 2go menu, then scroll to the
bottom where you'll find the link that says "Switch
Account". Clicking on this menu item will log you
out of your current account and provide a login box
for you to use your other account.
More Attractive UI (User Interface) :
From the colors to the font to the icons, everything
just looks refreshing and easy on the eye. The
colors look bolder and deeper which gives the 2go
world a feel of comfort and excitement. Check out
the pictures attached.
Easy Registration For New Users:
Registration can be easily done within the 2go
mobile application.
1.After you download the 2go mobile chat app, wait
for it to load.
2. You see a screen with the question: "Where do
you live?" where you will be required to select your
country. You can either scroll down to find it or
type in the search box.
3. On the next page, you will enter your phone
number. Note that a phone number cannot be
registered twice on 2go, so if that number has
been registered before, it will just log you in. If the
number has not been registered before, you will
see the registration screen.
If you are an old user and you need to recover your
2go password, send "2go password" to 32358
using the number you registered with.
The "Chats" Section : This is where you will be
taken immediately after you log in to 2go. The
Chats screen shows you a summary of all your new
chats including chats with your friends, chats in
rooms and group chats. You can go out of the chat
screen by pressing the back button, this would take
you to the normal 2go menu.
New Icons For Friend Updates:
The update icon shown beside a friend that has
updated their profile is now icon specific, that is,
the icon shown will depend on what the user
changed. If they changed their status, the icon will
be a small blue quote; if they changed their
relationship, the icon would be a heart symbol, and
so on.
New Design For 2go Rooms:
The 2go rooms now have a new design.
Everybody's username now have the same color.
You preferred chat color will only affect your
messages (i.e the text you type). Usernames are
now black and styled with a round cyan colored
box. If also looks like they have added more rooms
to give you guys a wide range of topics to discuss
about.
So if you have not upgraded your 2go app yet, you
should do so right now to enjoy the new features. I
